    Adam Park Rito Revolto
    Location: Kavard Family Dungeons --> Henshin R & D

Adam brought his Power Axe up to shield himself and the people behind when Joe came crashing through the door with Rito. The blood spray from the Gourmin Commander hit the blade of the Power Axe and slid off as Adam slowly lowered it to see Rito covered in the blood. Then Rito spoke and Artemis replied. Then Joe waved. Adam sighed and lowered the Power Axe as Rito cleaned himself off. The little girl peeked out from behind her mother at the scary skeleton and the massive behemoth. Adam looked back at her and smiled, "It's ok. This is Rito." Rito lowered his sword and waved the girl, smiling as best he could, "Hi there!" He turned to the others in the cell with him, "We're leaving." Joe and Rito backed out of the room as Adam followed behind. He stopped at the doorway and turned to look at the petrified Gourmin sitting at the console, "Normally I would just let you go. But I can't take the chance right now. Sorry." With that, he raised the Power Axe and slammed the head into chest of one Gourmin, sending him flying back into the second Gourmin, slamming them both against the far wall, causing them to crumple. He then exited the room with the prisoners in tow.

Once outside, Adam could hear the screams and cries of other prisoners being tortured and he clenched his left hand, "Rito. Exit?" Rito nodded and ran off down the hallway with Joe in tow. Adam followed and motioned to the prisoners to follow him. As the group ran down the hallway, Adam would stop periodically to break doors open with his Power Axe, dispatch the Gourmin inside, and free the prisoners. They stopped at the bottom of the stairs that led up and out of the Dungeons and too freedom to allow some of the prisoners to catch their breath. Adam opened his head and allowed the Power Axe to return to the Morphing Grid before grabbing the collar of his jacket and fluffing, "How far to the exit once we go upstairs?" Rito turned to Adam, "Across the base." Adam cringed, "Great." Then the little girl tugged at Adam's pant leg. He turned and looked down to see the girl and dropped to a crouch, "Yes?" She pointed to the group's right as Adam turned to see what she was pointing at. Plastered above an arched doorway was a sign that read: "R & D." Adam stood slowly, his eyes transfixed on the sign before turning to Rito who was now looking at the sign as well. Rito rubbed his chin, "Art would kill us if we ignored this opportunity." Adam nodded, "Yes. He would. But more than that, there could be stuff we could use in there. Little Miss Evil has, what I can only assume is, a prototype morpher." Rito nodded back, "What about the prisoners?" Adam turned back to the prisoners who were staring at him and Rito.

Adam brought his hand up to his ear, "Belmont. Sanada. This is Adam. I found a corridor that looks like it leads to the Kavard Family's R & D Labs. I'm going to investigate. And I'm taking Joe with me. Rito will escort the prisoners out of the facility. Sanada, we're going to need immediate evac for the prisoners. Belmont, have Cyclopsis ready to descend in case the Kavard Family pulls out some mean Anti-Air Artillery." He lowered his hand and turned to Rito, "If Belmont brings in Cyclopsis, get the money on board before you come back. Joe and I will meet you wherever the other team is. We should probably help them." Rito nodded as Adam turned to leave. He was stopped by a weight on his right foot. He looked down to see the little girl wrapped around his leg. He smiled and kneeled, pulling her off his leg and giving her a hug, "It's ok. You'll be safe. Rito will protect you. I have to go check out what you found for me, ok?" The little girl, fear in her eyes, looked at Adam, then up at Rito who had his sword on his shoulder. Rito gave the girl a thumbs up before she turned back to Adam. She nodded as Adam stood up and ruffled her hair, "Good Girl." Her Mother retrieved her as Adam turned to Joe, "Joe. Let's go." Adam ran off down the R & D Hallway as Joe lumbered behind him.

Moments later, Adam and Joe stopped in front of a set a massive double doors. A large sign was plastered above them: "Henshin R & D." Adam nodded, "Looks like I might have been right." He began to look for card reader or other means of access and found a hand reader on the side of the door. He walked over to it and examined it, "Well that's just great." He knocked on one of the doors with his knuckle, "That's some thick metal." He stepped back and looked up at Joe, "Joe." Joe looked down at him. Adam smiled, "Open." Joe walked forward and shoved his meaty fingers between the two doors, forcing room between them. He tried to pull them apart, but the doors refused to budge. Suddenly, blinding white lightning surged through his hands and through the doors. The doors' actuators whirred to life as Joe roared and pulled the doors open. Joe stood in the massive doorway, white lightning crackling from his finger tips as Adam walked up next to him and looked inside. His jaw dropped, "Oh. My. God."

    Remy Anderson.
Remy’seyes narrowed as they followed the movement of the green ranger. She kept vigilwatch, as she saw Tom rising. She jumped back as the green ranger snapped out aseries of kicks aimed at her person. She twirled out of an incoming attack, butwasn’t quick enough and was hit with fist to her helmet. She saw black spotsfrom the power behind the hit. A gormin came up behind her, ears stillrang…shaking her head she felt the impact of the incoming punch landing on herback side. Remy kicked back, landing a hit to the square of the gormin’sabdomen. The gormin flew back, as Remy twirled, her Escrima sticks brought upjust as the green ranger brought down her weapon. Remy snarled, a low growlerupting from her throat.

“Is thisthe best you have to offer?” Remy snarked, though her own muscles ran taunt atthe strain placed upon them. No words fell escaped from the evil green, just anincrease of pressure applied upon her weapon. Remy raised her foot kicking outand pushing back the menace in green.

Anothertime, another place, her mind dragged back to her younger years when she wasn’tas cynical. When the world wasn’t just cold and unforgiving, but life had beenhers for the taking. “An oath I’ve sworn to defend”. The lyrics came out fromnowhere, as if music played. In her memories the teammates from before came tomind. Noah…her teenage sweetheart, stood out the most, defiant eyes, easy grinand that arrogant stance that always gave Remy the urge to plant a foot up hisass.

What thehell…Remy thought as her thoughts were interrupted by a screeching noise.
Herattention was drawn towards the now opening door and two people stepped out. Adam, the vet and another unknown as far as Remy was concerned. She shook her head toclear her thought and refocus on the battle before her. Remy jumped to herleft, as the green ranger lunged at her. Remy fell instep besides Jacob.

“Fancy meeting you here.” Remy quipped as she took out an incoming gormin from herright. Twirling, she swirled down into a crouch position, Escrima sticks outbefore her in defense.

Jacob Summers Thomas "Tom" Yamato Isabel Kavard

Isabel turned to the newly morphed Jacob "ahh one of my newest creations worked! Too bad its in your hands!" She said in a threatening manner. "I'd say this is a legendary moment that will only grow from here." Jacob replied drawing his sword from the shield. He looked at the Gormin. "Bring it!" He yelled, Jacob found himself soon noticed by a group of Gormin. Not that it bothered him too much, Jacob slammed his shield against the closest enemy. The hit sent the Gormin spinning to the ground. The next three tried to simultaneously attack him. Jacob threw his hand forward, sticking his sword in the ground and used it to make a spin kick at the three warriors. "Now that's a fight right there." Jacob said to the fallen Gormin. But you know it's never that easy with cannon fodder as more just surrounded him. "The more the merrier..."

Isabel simply got even more annoyed at the development when all of a sudden an explosion occurred at one of the entrances to the lab. She looked over to see Adam and an unknown Robotic warrior. "It seems the prisoner escaped with some help..." She said as Jacob facepalmed "I had a bad feeling 'he' would bring that." referring to Artemis bringing Joe out of wherever he hid him. He looked at Remy who backflipped towards him as Tom also approached. "I think the odds have shifted in our favor!" Tom noted while noticing that Adam was completely ignoring them and the baddies. "Hmm he seems to be occupied." Tom pointed out as Jacob nodded. "Remy, Tom we have what we came here fo---" He was saying before being interrupted by the heiress.

"You may have won this round, but this battle is far from over Rangers!" Isabel yelled as she summoned more Gormin to go after Adam and Joe before retreating herself.

"Well...ok then..." Jacob muttered before seeing Joe just trample the Gormin while Adam simply ignored everything around him as if he was looking for something specific. "I'd say this is a perfect time to make our escape. Joe can watch over Adam." Jacob said as Tom nodded. "Sanada its time for a pick up!" Tom said nodding to Remy as they made for the exit.

    Remy Anderson.

Remy landed on one knee, her back momentarily turned towardsIsabel. Standing up, every muscle taunt with strain. She bit back the groan, she longed to release. She turned slowly, facing the retreating green ranger. Hereyebrows met in an arch as the green ranger retreated. Nodding her head inagreement with Jacob’s order, she began to match their strides towards theexit. Every tap of her foot hitting the pavement, the burn increased. She bitdown on her lip, to keep her cries of pain to herself.

Remy looked over her shoulder, wondering who was with Adam. Her eyes widen in amazement as he plowedthrough the gormin’s as if they were flies. “Well alright then.” Remy conceded,as she kept moving towards the exit. “I need more training.” She thought as shepushed forward, to keep pace with her comrades.
“Sanada, it’s time for a pick up.” The words echoed, whileshe concentrated moving away from the fight. She exited out of the building, keeping up with Tom and Jacob.

    Adam Park
    Location: Henshin R & D

Adam stood in awe at the sight before him, a vast array of apparatuses with various Power Ranger, Kamen Rider, and Super Sentai paraphernalia attached to them. Some he recognized, some he didn't. He approached one of the apparatuses and ran his hand along it as he tried to discern what it was doing. He was jolted out of his thoughts as a small army of Gormin appeared around him and Joe. He glanced over at Isabel who was barking orders before retreating. Well damn! He blocked an incoming club attack from a Gormin, grabbed the back of its head, and bounced its face off the counter in front of him before turning back to Joe, "Joe! Cover me!" Joe nodded and disappeared in a blur, beginning his systematic dispatch of the Gormin. Adam kicked one aside and resumed his examination of the apparatus on the counter as Jacob's team ran past him and out the door. He noticed a colored sphere imbedded in the hilt of the sword Jacob was holding and realized there were a lot more of those hooked up to the apparatus he was looking at. He noticed the colors and emblems of each sphere and cocked his head as he saw two were missing. One Jacob had, the other Isabel. He looked around for the morphers for these spheres and found a large locker against the wall nearby. He walked over to the locker and opened it to see two large cases, one silver and one purple. He pulled the cases out and took note of the emblems: a silver Pegasus and a purple Dragon. He turned back to the apparatus and found the corresponding spheres. He popped open the silver case and, sure enough, there was an empty space for its sphere. He also saw a silver guitar laying inside. A guitar? What the--? You know what? I'm not even gonna ask. He turned back to the apparatus and pulled the Silver Pegasus Kyutama from it, placing it in the case and closing it back up. He then opened the purple case to see, again, an empty spot for a Kyutama alongside a dragon-head cane. Swanky. He turned to grab the Violet Dragon Kyutama, but stopped when he didn't see it. Ummm... He looked around and gasped when he realized where it was. It was inserted into the opposite end of the apparatus. He walked over to the Ryu Kyutama and gave the apparatus a once over. The other spheres are feeding power to this one. Does that mean this one isn't finished?

A stray Gormin snuck up behind Adam and grabbed him in a Full Nelson Choke, "Agh! What?!" Adam struggled, but the Gormin's grip was firm, "Joe!" A moment later, Adam felt the Gormin's grip release as the shadow of Joe's body appeared behind him. He rubbed his neck and turned around to see the Gormin impacted about a foot into the wall, "Thanks." Joe nodded and went back to work on the remaining Gormin. Adam turned back to the Ryu Kyutama and plucked it from the apparatus. As soon as it was removed, the apparatus shut down. Well let's hope is close enough to finished. He walked back to the cases and put the Ryu Kyutama into the purple case and closed it. He picked up the cases and was about to call Joe to leave when he spotted another weapon locker against the wall near the next bank of apparatuses. This locker had an emblem he didn't recognize and it was ajar. He walked over to it and examined the emblem. Almost looks like a Time Force insignia... but it looks... different. He set the cases down and opened the locker to see it empty except for one small case. He reached in and pulled the case out. It was a Sea Blue with the emblem of a Sea Serpent on it. He placed the case on the nearby counter and opened it to find a wrist device and a belt with square storage device and a holster with a sidearm attached to it. Huh. He reached to the storage device and touched it as a card ejected from the top of it. He caught the card and turned it over, reading the words, "Hyper Force Blue Ranger... What the Hell is Hyper Force? Maybe powers Isabel Kavard created?" He flipped the card back over and, sure enough, the emblem he didn't recognize was emblazoned on it. He shrugged and slipped the card back into the holder before closing the case. With three cases and powers in hand, he took one last glance around the facility. I wonder what happened to the other morphers in the series? Surely she created more than one. As he scanned the facility, his eyes fell on something he, most certainly, recognized. He sprinted over to another bank of apparatuses, these ones testing Morphin' and Zeo technology. He set the cases down and looked up to see the Dragon Dagger suspended in mid air. How DARE you?! He reached up to grab the dagger, but immediately withdrew his hand as the field around it shocked him. Ok I'm not leaving without it. He reached behind him and placed his hand on his Power Morpher as Morphing Grid energy surged through his hand. He brought his hand back round and smirked, "Blade Blaster!" The signature sidearm of the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers appeared in Adam's hand. He quickly rotated it into blaster mode and blasted the apparatus creating the field around the Dragon Dagger. With the field gone, the Dragon Dagger fell like a rock. Adam caught it with his free hand and smiled as he felt the warmth of the Dragon Power emanate from it. He then aimed the blade of the Dagger at the Dragon Coin also being suspended as green lightning lanced out from the tip, frying the apparatus holding the coin. He then slipped the dagger into an inner coat pocket before catching the coin. He stared at the coin as his mind wandered. I don't know what happened to you in this time period, Tommy, but rest assured the Dragon Coin is no longer being used for evil. He pocketed the coin and sent the Blade Blaster back to the Morphing Grid before picking up the cases he found. He brought a finger up to his ear, activating his comms, "Belmont! Bring in Cyclopsis! We need a fast evac for a lot of people!" He then turned to the blur decimating Gormin, "Joe! We're leaving!" Joe appeared at his side. Adam nodded to him, "We don't have time for the standard approach. Get me outside." Joe nodded and picked Adam up in a cradle. Then, he disappeared in a blur, racing his way through the facility back to the front gate.

Joe had indeed proven to be a fun little sideshow attraction after all. Not to mention an extremely useful one. Not bad given that he was created purely because Art was bored out of his skull. As he watched the bloody opus, he smiled like a giddy child in a chocolate factory. “Time well spent!” he said to himself, placing his hands behind his head and leaning further back into the nice comfy leather chair that he’d been sitting in. He did notice the rather swanky little trinkets that Adam picked up on his adventures in the R&D labs and licked his lips in excitement. “Dibs on the purple cane.” He deadpanned in the com-link before looking over at the fight raging on between Jacob’s crew and Isabel. Disappointment sure as shit was a bittersweet bitch right about now as he watched the lean, mean green fighting machine retreat and with the victors decided as Jacob, Batgirl and Naruto. “Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel,” he huffed with considerable disdain at the result.

“Pay up!” Goldar said, holding his hand out expectantly. Art’s response was giving him the finger. “How rude!”

With the two of them now sitting there sulking in a huff like a pair of naughty children, they opted to turn their chairs away from each other; Goldar going right back to monitoring duties and Artemis finding comfort in a 1kg jar of Nutella. Before the two of them could squabble and bicker like the pair of bratty children trapped in the bodies of a flying monkey and a gaunt ninja, the familiar voice of Adam Park shouted into the comlink.

"Belmont! Bring in Cyclopsis! We need a fast evac for a lot of people!"

Setting their financial squabble and differences aside, Goldar and Artemis sprang into action immediately as they buckled up and sped down, blasting any would-be interceptors to smithereens in the blink of an eye. As Cyclopsis simultaneously soared through the skies, skilfully evading and making short work of its adversaries, the large doors to the front gate were booted open, knocking several guards away with the force of them all and in the midst of the smoke and confusion, the hostages made it out of the front gate, guided by the Black Ranger and Art’s little side show experiment.

    “Down there!”

    “Already on it!”

As Goldar kicked it into gear and plummeted down to the target point, Artemis left the cockpit and made his way to the healing room. The lights flickered on as he entered the room and he glided towards the tank where his old comrade was resting in. His apathetic gaze looked at his old friend who was sleeping soundly and recovering from his little desert rendezvous. Why in the blue blazes carried on instead of trying to rest or find shelter of some sort was beyond him. Then again out of all the trio that had once been Team Ryder, Jared had always been the most stubborn of them all. By comparison to the duty and honour driven Tony and the apathetic Artemis, Jared had always been very much in touch with his emotions and often times let them cloud his judgement. Ironically enough, Tony had also shown himself to be taken by his emotions on the treacherous voyage to rescue his parents. By comparison to the two of them, Artemis had never let his emotions interferer with a mission. “Probably because I was too busy running away from fights rather than engaging in them like those two knuckleheads,” he thought, snorting loudly as he brushed those whimsical thoughts down memory lane to one side for now. They had no place here. And with Jared now at 93% he now had no excuse to be sleeping on the job. That role was one that Artemis himself would proudly fulfil at every opportunity. Once again, the machines beeped and hummed as the fluids drained and the doors began opening up and Jared unceremoniously flopped down to the ground by his feet.

“Move Sleeping Beauty.” Artemis informed him, not even bothering to lend him a hand up as Jared stood back up. Then without even a backward glance, Artemis tucked his hands into his pockets and strolled out of the room with his trademarked slouching walk. Somewhere in the back of his head, Art knew for a fact that Jared was put off by his old friend’s apathy and lack of conversing, especially given his previous chatterbox nature during their days as comrades and brothers in arms. To say that Artemis was a mere shadow of his former self didn’t even begin to cover it. It was as though that all that was left in place was a ghost simply wearing the guise of Artemis Belmont.

On the ground below, the hostages and the unusual trio of unlikely heroes were surrounded from all sides. The hostages cowered with parents shielding their children and so many of them of them being scared out of wits end. Rito stepped forward, sword drawn and shifted into a defensive stance, guarding them as best he could. The silent behemoth set Adam down and stared at the endless horde surrounding them with its lifeless eyes. Joe raised his right hand and flexed his fingers, white lightning crackled and discharged as he prepared to spring into action and murder every last one of them. Yet before he could do so, fate made a timely intervention as Neo-Cyclopsis swooped down and locked onto all enemies, hovering menacingly above them all. One of the doors slowly opened and a figure emerged from the shadows and stood there silently looking down at them all, a murderous intent ominously loomed around him and violently surged out, freezing the enemy dead in their tracks, the weaker ones being evaporated to dust at the mere presence of it.

“Nice to meet you. I am Artemis Belmont.” He greeted monotonously. Upon seeing the baffled looks below, he opted for a much better kind of clarification for the masses. “I believe that quite a few of you especially the Zangyack here once knew me as Yeshua.” He added. If the giant mecha of death and destruction didn’t scare the shit out of everyone of the villains present, then somehow the very mention of that name did the trick. The name alone was enough to make a large number of them shiver in fear. After all these years, the very name that the Zangyack and so many others once referred to him as still held a tremendously terrifying amount of reverence. So many had believed him to be an urban myth, a Boogeyman figure whispered to scare people but there were those that had seen his handiwork and encountered him back when he was indeed holding that name. Yeshua was not some sort of killer that was the Devil incarnate, he was the killer that you would send to kill the Devil himself. Satisfied on seeing the trepidation drown them like a raging tsunami, he continued. “Anybody that wants to live, withdraw now.” Finally, he removed his right arm from behind his back and pulled out a bag of pizza flavoured potato chips and opened them up before very conspicuously and portentously eating them.

Heads turned and looked at each other to their generals and masters, all silently asking the same question and it seemed that everyone was on the same page and heeded the warning, so much so that they lowered their weapons and parted ways for the crowd of hostages and heroes to make a clean exit. In a flurry, the hostages scurried to safety with the trio of heroes being the last to board. And right on cue, Sanada’s ship also landed and allowed safe passage for Jacob’s team to get up to safety. Then with everyone cleared, they departed.

“Now to ensure that no loose ends come popping back up,” Artemis said vaguely as he wandered back into the cockpit, ignoring the prisoners that were now safe and sound. With the hit of a button Neo Cyclopsis' single crimson eye began to glow and pulse with energy until the energy took shape and bubbled into existence. Goldar watched with confusion at this newfound feat and then that curiosity turned to horror as he watched the beam shoot down to the planet before and obliterate it in the blink of an eye. His horror immediately turned to joy. "That. Was. Beautiful."

"You're welcome," Artemis said as he fist bumped the flying monkey. "Although knowing Elphaba, she's likely survived."

    "How'd you figure that?"

"Snakes like her are always good at shedding skin when needed. No doubt she high tailed it immediately after the retreat."

    Adam Park Jared Michaels
    Location: Cyclopsis Bridge

Adam walked onto the bridge of Cyclopsis and put the three Ranger Cases down against a clear wall before collapsing into the closest chair, "Woo! That was harrowing!" He moved his right hand through his short hair, "I've almost forgotten the adrenaline rush you get when doing proper Ranger stuff." At that moment, the door slid open behind Artemis and a hand lanced out and snatched the potato chip bag from him as Jared stepped onto the bridge, "I'm starving." He proceeded to down the remainder of the chips in one go, "Mmmm... Pizza..." Adam stifled a laugh as Jared tossed the empty bag into the nearby garbage receptacle and walked over to the cases, crouching in front of them, "Ooh! You brought us presents from the now vaporized planet! Sweet!" The first case he saw was the silver case, "Pegasus? Yeah... no." He then moved on to the next case, "Ooh... Dragon... nice. And purple to boot." Then he looked at the third case, "Blue... what the Hell is that?" Adam crossed his arms, "Sea Serpent." Jared stood up, "Huh." He reached down and pulled the purple case, laying it on the closest table and opening it, "A... cane?" Jared pulled the Dragon-Head Cane out with one hand and the Ryu Kyutama with the other. As soon as he picked up the Kyutama, it began to glow purple in his hand. Adam leaned back in the chair, "Be careful with that, Michaels. It was in an apparatus with the other orbs in the set... which Belmont just destroyed... It seemed like they were powering it or some such. My guess is that this orb wasn't finished being created." Jared nodded, transfixed by the swirling purple energy inside the orb, "Understood. I'll take that chance." He pocketed the orb and closed the case before walking over to Artemis and placing the tip of the cane on the floor, leaning on it, "So..." He looked over at Artemis, "I assume there was a reason you woke me from the best sleep I've had in months. What's up?"

Sleep deprivation, a caffeine addiction and taste buds that constantly craved and required everything and anything to be coated in sugar and every other unhealthy known to man were three rather unpleasant things to be inflicted with. After a lifetime of coping with all three of them, Artemis had acquired an uncanny gift to ignore most of the things that his body needed. Right before he could tuck his hand in his beloved packet of pizza chips an unfamiliar hand snatched them from his grasp and proceeded to eat the remaining contents. His head whipped round furiously fast to see the face of the unsavoury bastard that had committed this crime and right as he was about to punch, kick, maim, shoot, impale and whack the lights out of said bastard and just his hand was raised and poised to thrust straight through the chest of the fiendish fucker that did so, he stopped. “Mmmm… Pizza…” the all too familiar voice of one Jared fucking Michaels said with an orgasmic Homer Simpson level of glee before the empty bag in the trash.

The usually placid and laid back waif’s face had contorted and twisted with a level of rage that would make even the biggest badass evil mofos in the galaxy tremble with envy. A cold and ominous chill filled the air as Artemis was more than willing to murder the vicious bastard right there and then and for once, he made no effort to hide his murderous intent. To add further insult to injury, Jared nicked the damn case that he called dibs on and was leaning on the damn stylish Joker cane of pure purple awesomeness and style. "So..." The two comrades and bros in arms looked at each other as Jared opened his fat, flapping gob. "I assume there was a reason you woke me from the best sleep I've had in months. What's up?"

With the borderline saint like levels of self-restraint that he had down to a fine art that came as natural as breathing, Artemis stilled his hand and pushed the all too easy murderous impulses to one side as he turned and looked away and stayed uncharacteristically quiet as Neo Cyclopsis drifted through space. Somewhere out there in the cold, dark vacuum of space something sinister was brewing. And we don’t mean the aftermath of one of Rito’s cooking experiments. That was something that no man, woman or child ever needed to witness or experience ever again. The heavy silence continued even after dropping the hostages off at a recovery facility on KO-35. And still, Artemis hadn’t said a word. Even the positive aftermath of the mission didn’t sway him like the rest of the team. Even Jared in all his Grumpy Bear glory seemed silently pleased with the outcome on some level deep down that wasn’t so burned out and beaten out of him. Here they were, hailed as heroes and honoured with medals and a choir of cheers and cries of joy with this being the first bitter taste of hope that the galaxy had long since been denied in this time and age where heroes and heralds of truth and justice were no more than a distant memory.

Even after all of this, Artemis had still not spoken to anyone. That alone was one massive tip off that something was up. The waif couldn’t shake the feeling that something monumental and terrible was going to happen. For the time being, Remy had come aboard Neo-Cyclopsis, presumably to take a peak and satisfy her latent curiosity about the giant mecha of doom whilst Jacob and Tom were still on Sanada’s ship. Much to Art’s dismay the silent killing machine that was Joe had taken a liking to her… about as much as he’d expressed… He was even letting her hug him or paint his nails, a process that Joe seemed to… enjoy? He honestly didn’t know and gave up trying to figure that out.

Finally, after several hours of silence, Artemis finally broke his prolonged state of silence as he closed his eyes and took a deep breath in, nostrils flaring and a small ghostly grin twitched on the edge of his lips. “Can you smell the air?”

Something about the way that he asked that random question was off-putting. It was like he knew that something monumental and terrible was about to happen right at that very moment. Then, without another word, he approached Remy and Jared, pulling them towards him and linking his arms over their shoulders and grinned that wide, mischievous toothy grin of his that he done so to Jared so many times over the years, usually whenever he was about to pull a prank or something. But then, just as quickly as the whimsical grin appeared, it faded all too fast as he wandered to the silver case that Adam had picked up and opened it up, eyeing up the silver guitar that gleamed almost mournfully in the light. He picked it up and sat down, strumming it a few times before settling on a brief melody. The melody soon became fast paced and frantic as he played. "Countdown!"

    Look!

Do you want to dance with this blackened angel?
Do you want to live long enough to tell this fable?
I pray and I pray for solace and sweet release
These four walls are closing in as all hope starts to cease
So long as I breathe, I can’t help but commit a brand new sin
Mind is fading, body breaking as I start to shed this skin
Losing the plot, so pick it up and take your best shot
Going into overdrive, wonderin’ why I’m still alive
I’m sinning and sinning, the voices are spinning

World is burning, signs in disarray
Clergy better kneel and say one last pray
I’ve been to Hell to back, denied my fucking respite
So here I stand on this precipice looking for a final exit

So watch me break and burn as the hourglass starts to turn
There’s no coming back from what I’ve done
The dark is closing in and the worst has only just begun
There will be no peace until my minds erodes
Waiting for my day of reckoning as time corrodes
I don’t even know how I found my way here
How long can I outrun this fear?
    He’s comin’ to collect
God forgive me, all I got left is time to reflect
Whisper a prayer, before they drag me down where you can’t follow
So here’s hopin’ that you don’t lemme go hollow

The melody ended and Artemis went silent again, bowing his head in a form of submission. But it did nothing to hide the strange and whimsical grin that reappeared again. “5…4…3…2…1… And cue!”

And right on time, the air distorted and the mass compressed before something truly horrifying appeared from out of nowhere and tore through the very fabric of reality. All heads immediately turned in the direction of it as it appeared and the varying reactions of horror, shock, surprise and bemusement confounded everyone. “I’ve missed that smell!” Artemis said sarcastically as one wormhole appeared and promptly sucked Sanada’s ship in. Before anyone could even process that, another wormhole tore through reality and sucked Remy and Adam through. Sure enough, Joe went zooming in after them to get them out only to fortunately be dragged into it through sheer force. “Fuck. That. Shit.” Artemis declared. And then before he knew it, Artemis in all his previously sociopathic glory promptly whacked Jared over the back of the head with the silver guitar that he’d been using and sent him hurling through the damn thing.

“That’s for the chips, you thieving bastard!” he thought, grinning with satisfaction and remaining blissfully apathetic to quite literally everything being sucked in and around him as he casually began to bugger off to take a nap. Unfortunately, his plan that he’d affectionately titled in his head of Operation: So Not Doing This Shit Again was foiled completely by a certain someone. Or two…

“BUDDY!” Rito cried and bless the brain dead sap of bones charged right into it headfirst to try and save Jared from certain doom only, succeeding by grabbing Jared by the leg and starting to pull him back in, only to fail as he tripped over his own feet and spiralled into the swirling vortex.

Goldar face palmed in embarrassment, annoyance and all around murderous rage at the heavens for the constant stream of crap and bad luck that they seemed completely condemned with having. “Why me?!”

While Artemis lay there sleeping (or pretending to do so) a furious stampede of footsteps dashed towards him and promptly scooped him up underneath a heavy arm and proceeded to leg it straight towards the bloody wormhole. “Come on you lazy little shit! We gotta help them! And I don’t know how or why but this is somehow your fault!”

    “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!” Artemis screamed.

Fate truly hated his guts enough to send a wormhole straight on his fucking doorstep and just when he thought he could evade this horrible from happening ever again, it seemed destiny, luck, fate, God or whatever divine or mysterious force of nature and everything else had other plans and proceeded to once again shit on his parade completely.

And just as he fell through the wormhole, something unusual happened…

He realized that he was no longer lodged under the suffocating iron grip of one Goldar and was instead floating softly and staying there no less whereas everyone else had gone through no problem.

“OK. That’s new.” Artemis muttered with intrigue.

A rolling record player began playing from all directions.

    Happy birthday to you…

    “Oh no…”

    Happy birthday to you…

    “Oh fuck you world…”

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOOOOOOOU

    “Fuck. My. Life.”

A perpetually grinning man materialized from out of nowhere garbed in a horrible pink suit and proceeding to give him the biggest thumbs up and cheesiest grin ever.

    “SUBA-“

    “NO! JUST PLAIN NO!”

“How rude!” Kougami remarked, offended at the introduction to his trademark greeting and ending to his awesome entrance. He loudly cleared his throat before welcoming Artemis in the most unwanted manly hug that he’d ever had in his entire life. “WELL? HOW DO YOU FEEL?”

The deadpan look on Art’s face was doing a grand job of hiding his wrath, however his twitching left eye and top lip begged to differ. “Rage. Fury. Irritation. Humiliation.” He responded with a completely deadpan tone that he was rapidly becoming accustomed to using after five years in jail.

“Oh come on! Don’t be like that! You should smile more Art-kun!”

    “I am smiling.”

    “LIES!”

Artemis rubbed the back of his neck and covered his ear. “Inside I am.” He looked around the still white void that he’d wound up in compared to everyone else who had completely fallen through to the other side. “I assume this is your doing?”

    “HAI! SOU DESU!”

“Right… Before I slit my own throat to avoid this mess, what’s the deal? Why pull me out of the wormhole?”

“Simple Art-kun!” Now he had the boy’s attention. “You must pay a toll!”
“What? What do you mean pay a toll?”

“Simple! You’re going to pay me a toll and I’m going to ensure that you all land somewhere safe and sound!”

“Why not just pull us out of the wormhole?”

“Do I look like Kami? I’m good but I’m not that good. So this was a safe alternative.”

    “You call that safe?”

“Says the man who whacked Jared over the head with a guitar to make sure that he went in so that you could save your own skin?”

“You know that whole: Once a Ranger, always a Ranger BS that those morons are always harping on about? In my case, it’s: Once a coward, always a coward. I prefer to stay safe, sound, sane and as far away from everything horrible known to man.”

“Yet you were completely willing to face your fate on death row without any hesitation?”

Artemis grimaced. “Enough word play. I’m not in the mood. So you want me to pay you so that them lot and me wind up in a semi decent or safe place rather than somewhere that Satanael is the big boss over?”

    “Yes.”

    “How much?”

Kougami smiled that deliriously happy trademark smile of his as he whipped out a notepad and pen and scribbled something down on it before handing it to Artemis.

“I don’t even 20 bucks never mind that!”

“Then you should’ve learned to invest in your money and savings rather than spend it all on cake, sugar and sweets!”

“Never. Not while I’m alive anyway. So what else can I give you that isn’t money since let’s face it, I’m broke. More than usual might I add!”

“Hmmm” Kougami crossed his arms and was deep in thought before coming up with an appropriate payment as an alternative. “Try to eat more healthy while you’re there!”

“Piss off. Why would I agree to that?”

    “I’ll call Olivier.”

Now Art was wide eyed in horror at the mention of his dear big sis. “You’re bluffing.”

“Try me.” One hard stare was enough to convince Artemis that he was completely telling the truth. No way in hell was Artemis Belmont ever gonna try and piss off his big sister. She was a terrifying force of nature to begin with, not to mention that even at his best, she STILL kicked his ass every single time whenever they had the usual dispute after one of lost at Monopoly.

    “I hate you.”

“CONGRATULATIONS! THE DEAL IS MADE!” Kougami announced as he struck his hand out. Begrudgingly, Artemis shook his hand and accepted the terms.

Then he plummeted back down to the other side of the wormhole where the others had landed. Not before Kougami waved him a final goodbye, promising that they would indeed see each other again soon.

Jacob Summers Thomas "Tom" Yamato Sanada Kougami John Patrick Ramsey
Astro Megaship -> Southern Cross University

Jacob and Tom walked onto the Bridge of the Megaship where Sanada stood "Good work, we've recovered precious tech and freed innocents from the hands of evil and Satanael." Sanada said as they watched Art vaporize the planet... "He couldn't wait to try out his new planetary destruction laser..." Jacob said shaking his head. "Well...he certainly is brooding..." Tom remarked "But we won the battle and lived to fight another day! That fires me up!" He yelled as all of a sudden he felt an uneasy aura.

Alarms started blaring on the megaship when a huge portal opened up next to them. "Oh great....WORMHOLE!" Jacob called out "Somehow I have a hunch a certain brooding knucklehead had something to do with this!!!!!!!!!" Sanada bellowed out and the ship was spinning uncontrollably as it was being pulled by the gravity of the portal. "Well...my motto is why hide, when we can rampage forward!" Tom said as he grabbed the ships controls and drove straight into the wormhole!

WHOA!!!!!! was all that was heard as the light consumed the ship.

Moments later, the Megaship reappeared, "Status Report!" Sanada ordered. "Sir, looks like we've appeared in a new dimension called "Southern Cross!" Alarms started blaring again as the engines failed "Power failure sir!" Tom yelled as he tried to keep the ship under control. "ALL HANDS! BRACE FOR IMPACT! DECA assist Tom as best you can!" Jacob yelled. The ship landed in a grassy field with a couple of hard thuds that would probably tip the richter scale.

Meanwhile on the Southern Cross University Campus, John was walking to his next class when he felt the ground tremble, shaking everything around him definitely startling everyone on campus. "That wasn't natural, as if something big landed with a nasty thud." He said as he ran outside to see the commotion. "Nick! Meet up at the entrance to the campus, we need to investigate the tremor. Partner you do the same." He was met up by Kenzie and Nick "Whatever that fell, it certainly left a smoke trail." He said pointing at the smoke out in the field.

However before they could do that, time stopped around them. "Huh whats going on?" John said looking around seeing time had frozen in place except for the three of them.

A rolling record player began playing from all directions.

    Happy birthday to you…

    “What the...”

    Happy birthday to you…

    “Really...”

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOOOOOOOU

    “...”

A perpetually grinning man materialized from out of nowhere garbed in a horrible pink suit and proceeding to give him the biggest thumbs up and cheesiest grin ever.

"SUBARASHI!!!! Hello Dino Thunder Rangers!!! John-Kun, Nick-Kun, Kenzie-Chan! I am Kougami!"

John's eyebrow arched at the sheer over the topness of the man in front of him.

"And why may I ask that you stopped time to speak with us?" He asked

"Simple, this is the calm before the storm! The world that you knew is about to be turned upside down. I seek to only aid in your efforts by giving you these!" Kougami said taking out a briefcase with a cake decal on it.

He set it out on the desk and opened it up revealing brand new morphers for the three of them. "You may be needing these, Happy Birthday!"

John was skeptical "What's the catch?" He asked as he slowly grabbed the morpher.

"I haven't decided yet John-Kun but in time you will know..."

    Remy Anderson

Remy’s curiosity had her boarding Neo Cyclopsis instead of theship with Tom and Jacob. She was one to follow her instincts and to this daythat hadn’t changed. A few hours later she found herself to have bonded with Joe.She didn’t know how it happened, but the new bond warmed her heart. She endedup painting his nails, after she fixed the disaster that hers had become.
She sat observing the room and the conversations that whereflowed around her.
“Can you smell the air?” The sentence itself startled Remy,as she turned her head partially to look at Artemis. She was pulled from herchair and his arm slung around her shoulder, as his other went over Jared. Remy’shead cocked to the side in confusion, and bit nervous at the grin he wasdisplaying.
He soon left them standing there, the grin long fading, andshe kept her gaze locked on his moments. As soon as the melody flowed throughoutthe room, Remy let the words wash over her, while her eyes closed. As the songwent on, she felt each of the words resonate within her. Her eyelids flutteredopen as the song came to an end. She crossed her arms over her chest, and the samegrin that caused a chill down her spine reappeared.
“The hell…” Remy thought but she felt the air change aroundher. She was pulled through the very fabric of time. “O...h…h…e…l…l…” Remy bitout as she fell. When she landed she heard another thump besides her and slowlyturned her gaze in that direction.
    Adam. Joe.
“Toto, I got a feeling where not in Kansas anymore.” Remy quippedas she pushed herself to her feet.

    Kenzie Guerra.
“Too quiet. It’s been too quiet.” Kenzie thought as she focusedon the task at hand.
Kenzie kept her gaze locked on the couple in front of her, hercamera clicking away. Her long blonde hair tied back, as she fought to keep herfocus. She has spent the last couple of night, tossing and turning as nightmaresonce again plagued her already troubled mind. As the last click sounded, she smiledat the happy couple promising their photos would be finished soon. She watchedas they walked away, happily just to be in each other’s presence.
“Photography is never done.” Her inner voiced quipped.
She turned and moved back towards her work area, placing thecamera next to her laptop, while she started the process of transferring thephotos over. She booted up her photo editing software, but stopped when theworld spun, and her vision tinted black and white again. Sighing, she heard a familiarvoice call over their communicator that she was needed. She plucked her camera fromit’s resting spot and stuck it into the carrying case. Slinging the case overher shoulder, she locked the door and ran towards the front of the campus. Shecame skidding to a stop, as in view came Nick and John. Tilting her head, shewalked towards them, one hand clutching the sling to her case.
“You called?” Kenzie called out while surveying thearea. She looked in the direction thathe had pointed in. Before she could take a step in that direction, her visionshifted, and she groaned with irritation. Then a rolling record player began toplay, Kenzie whirled once around, trying to figure which direction the musiccame from.
    Happy Birthday to you…
    “Who’s birthday?” Kenzie quipped.
    Happy Birthday to you…
    “Seriously?”
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU….”
Kenzie just blinked as the song continued, listening and watchingJohn and Nick’s reactions. She itched to morph but stopped herself.
“Hi…” Kenzie called out uncertainly, not sure whether he wasfriend or foe. She turned her head left from right noticing nothing movedaround them.
The case that was presented to them had a cake decal on it.She couldn’t decipher whether if she was dreaming or stuck in an alternatereality. The choices were endless, but she just kept her mouth shut. She reached out and plucked a morpher out andturned it over in her hands.
“In time we’ll know? H…” Kenzie snapped her mouth shut and slowlyrotated that she was half facing John and Nick and part of her facing Kougami.
