    Saban sells Power Rangers

"Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS), a global play and entertainment company, and Saban Properties LLC today announced that the companies have signed a definitive agreement for Hasbro to purchase Sabanís Power Rangers and several other entertainment brands, including My Pet Monster, Popples, Julius Jr., Luna Petunia, Treehouse Detectives and others, in a combination of cash and stock valued at $522 million."

Created by Haim Saban in 1993 and already sold to Disney before, hopefully this can mean a better vision for future seasons as a whole.

Didn't Saban just undergo a rebranding of all things Power Rangers and announce a new commitment to Power Rangers?

That might've just been a preparation for the sale as it did coincide with the sale of the merch deal to Hasbro.

I'll be interested to see where this goes. Hasbro has a LOT of money to throw around which could mean good things for the franchise : the resurrection of the movie series, a higher quality for the TV Show and Toy line, the possibility of related media like an animated series, etc.

The only possible downside is that Hasbro has its own TV Network, The HUB, which is costs extra to get from many tv providers which could make the show harder for people to watch if it moves there after the current 3 year deal with Nick expires.

Either way, I'm psyched to see what happens!

As long as they don't pull a Disney (or worse, give the comic rights to the a-holes over at IDW) i think it will be ok. All i can do now is wait and see what they bring to the table.

What's the problem with IDW? Overall their Transformers is easily the best stuff the the franchise has seen in 20 years and the few years of GI Joe stuff written by Chuck Dixon is amazing.

Yeah, the same house that gave us ideologues like Aubrey Sitterson and This:

Clearly the franchise will be in good hands...
