    Christine Bishop

Christine was upstairs above the bookstore getting ready for the day. She put on skinny jeans, a black tank top, a long-sleeved purple overshirt and boots. Running a brush through her hair she pulled it up into a ponytail before heading downstairs. She turned on all the lights and let in her three workers. "Hey guys," she said as they stepped inside. "Morning Christine!" they said in unison. She burst out into laughter. "Did you guys practice that?" Jeremy laughed. "It's the first time in a long time we've all been here at once." Sydney and Jenny grinned. She turned to Sydney. "Well it's not everyday that we have something to celebrate." She hugged her. "Congratulations on your new job." Sydney smiled and hugged her back. "Thank you." She hugged Jenny and Jeremy as they congratulated her as well. "We're all sorry to see you go but we're also excited for you," Christine added. "I'm going to miss you guys too."

"I know you have to head to the airport soon but we wanted to throw you a little congratulations/going away party," Christine said. She headed towards the back and came out with a box from the local bakery. She opened it up and it had chocolate filled doughnuts with frosting that had Congrats Syd! spelled out on them. "You got my favorite," Sydney said sinking her teeth into one. While the others each grabbed one Christine grabbed a brightly wrapped box. "This is from all of us." Sydney licked her fingers and wiped them on a napkin. She opened it and there was a beautiful leather briefcase with her initials on the clasp. "I love it!" She hugged them again. "You can't be a lawyer without one," Christine said with a smile.

    --------------------------------------------------------------

An hour later they all said their goodbyes to Sydney before she got in her taxi to the airport. Christine was the last to say goodbye. "Don't forget to call me when you get there." She hugged Christine tightly. "I promise." Sydney smiled. "Thank you for everything you did for me while I was going to law school. I couldn't have done it without you." Christine smiled. "I was happy to do it." Sydney hugged her one last time and got into her taxi. They all waved goodbye as she left. The three of them went back inside to officially open up the bookstore for the day.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

It was later in the afternoon and Christine was ending her third interview for the day. Rubbing her eyes she sighed. "How's it going boss," Jeremy asked. "Well the first guy didn't want to have to take orders from a woman, the first girl couldn't string two sentences together without using the word "like" every other word, and the second girl was dressed in an outfit so skimpy it would be better for working in a strip club." He grinned. "The third one sounded good." She punched him lightly in the shoulder. "I don't think your fiance would appreciate her working here." He laughed. "I don't think she would be happy about it." She smiled and shooed him back to work. When he walked away she sighed again and looked out the window where the job wanted sign was. "Hopefully we get someone soon," she thought to herself.

    Zack King

Zack stared at the ceiling from his desk, feet kicked up seat fully reclined. Per usual during this time of day, it would be a matter of minutes when the shop door opened and customers poured in to get some work done or pick up their vehicles.

Zack sighed staring at the mountain of paperwork in front of him as it seemed the shop was gaining in popularity every day. Zack wondered if he should take it upon himself to seek some more help. While he loved working at the shop and with his team, they both had other responsibilities outside of the shop. Zack was usually the guy who was there 24/7 and could sometimes use a pair of hands to help when the squad wasn't present.

Zack pulled out his morpher and stared at it twirling it around a bit. It had been days since the battle against the Neo Cogs, and though they were victorious, something didnt feel right. Surely that wasn't the best the Fallen had to send? If so then he and the other Rangers would breeze through the machines.

Nonetheless Zack, Rodrigo, and Levi were now the city's guardians and potentially the world's. Zack stretched a bit hearing the door open and quickly put his morpher away but sighed in relief as Levi walked in.

He gave a wave chuckling at the bubbly greeting.

"Hey there, just me and Cassie here right now. You have come right at the calm before the storm. Today's set to be a busy one."

He stood up coming around the desk offering a fist bump to the yellow ranger.

"We haven't really had a chance to digest everything that's happened the last couple of days. How ya holding up?"

Zack wasn't too sure but behind the smile it seemed there was something perhaps tugging at Levi's mind. He didnt wanna prod her too much but Zack knew as team leader he had to ensure the upkeep of moral of the team.

Christine sighed again before getting up and shredding the three applications. She started going through her invoices for the week when she heard the door open. Looking up she saw a guy come in and scan the store. When he headed towards the counter, she put her paperwork down. She was about to ask if he needed help when he said that he was interested in the job. Before she could reply he commented on the layout of the store. Taken aback she was about to protest when he asked her to excuse him.

While this was happening, Jeremy came over and exchanged a glance with Christine. They watched as he ran around and started to rearrange some of the books. When he was done he came up to them and explained what he did. They both just stared at him in surprise. Suddenly he seemed to realize something and his face went a little red as he smacked himself in the forehead. Again before she could speak he said something about blowing his chances and started heading to the door.

It took a moment for the surprise to wear off and Christine was finally able to speak. “Wait a minute,” she called out.

Cole stopped in his tracks as he heard a voice call out to him to wait a minute he turned around and saw it was the lady who he assumed owned the store thinking he was about to get chewed out he let out a long sigh of exasperation.

"Look if you're going to ask what's wrong with me I don't really know okay? I just get antsy and I like things in a certain order I even take medicine for it but it doesn't really help" he chuckled before continuing

"I'm sorry for saying your store layout sucked if you want I'll put everything back the way it was okay?" He said resisting the urge to smack himself more

"Stop, stop stop," Christine said. "I was a little taken aback about your comment on my layout but there is no need to apologize." She smiled. "From what you said I'm assuming that you either have OCD or ADHD?"

"ADHD I do my best to manage it but I still get out of control sometimes thanks for being so understanding" Cole said smiling back

"You're welcome," Christine said with a smile. "So why don't we start over." She turned to Jeremy. "This is Jeremy. He's worked here the longest. The other girl who works here is named Jenny." She smiled. "And my name is Christine. What's yours?"

"I'm pretty and your Cole" he said flubbing what he meant to say
"I mean I'm Cole and you're pretty wait a minute that sounds misogynistic you're not pretty I mean not that you're ugly I mean…" Cole took a deep breath
"Cole my name is Cole" he said assuredly

I'm Cole and I'd like a job here I'm good at organizing as you already know" he said with a chuckle

Christine blushed a little while Jeremy tried to hide his grin. She elbowed him in the side. "Sorry boss," he said under his breath. Christine turned back to Cole. "It's nice to meet you Cole," she said with a smile. "I just need you to fill out an application as a formality. Other than that you're hired."

Cole resisted the urge to pump his fist in the air and cheer at the fact that he now had employment "An application? Sure thing I can fill out an application boss" Colt said smiling at Christine.

Screams and grunts were heard throughout the sinister compound, one that would be heard anywhere on Earth. Strong stomps, shouting and even equipment breaking were heard and seen by the Neo Cogs, some which were destroyed by one of the Generals in particular as to let off steam from what happened before.

YOU! YOUR USELESS COGS ARE TO BLAME! AN ENTIRE BATTALION WAS BESTED BY THREE COLORED IDIOTS! HOW IS IT THAT OUR LORD NAMED YOU THE OVERSEER IS BEYOND ME! NOW YOU WILL ANSWER TO ME!

Now now S1K-70R, while aggravating, everything is still within parameters. After analysis from the last encounter we did not think those blasted Resistance forces were able to obtain such power by fusing their technology with Earth's one. But that does not mean we cannot adapt as well

All i am hearing is excuses bolt brain, all that memory and this is all that you can think of? Perhaps i should just let S1K-7OR here just use you for spare parts and let us deal with the vermin already. I don't know about you all but i do not want our Lord to see us as failures for not enslaving this piece of rock before his arrival

I DO NOT NEED YOU TO SPEAK FOR ME F3MM! DO NOT GIVE ME A REASON TO TURN MY BLADE AGAINST YOU! ALL OF YOU!

That would be enough now thank you. Like I said, all is accounted and will be countered in the next encounter. They can have their upgrades, we have ours. While you two are bickering i am researching and developing solutions, hence why I. AM. IN. CHARGE.

The next time the Rangers meet our forces, they will not only deal with our Neo Cogs, but with one surprise leading the charge...

    Rodrigo Bustamante

The school day was drawing to a close and all Rodrigo could think of is getting to the Auto Shop as soon as possible. He liked the environment of the schools and the students liked his teaching, but he could always feel more at home in Last Chance, and a myriad of reasons always proved him why.

    I'm home!

Welcome Rodrigo! How was your day?

Cassie being the first and foremost one. This past year as he was his guide and in some ways ambassador of Earth was a roller coaster of emotions and experiences. From the sadness and impotence First Contact left in his mind and soul to the experience of moving on developing the Rangers' gears and weapons while getting to know the new world she would make home, Rodrigo always felt great reaching his place and knowing she will be there to welcome him with a smile. On the back of his mind he knew that this would pass someday and that at the end, she would have to return after defeating The Fallen, but for now he likes to take things one day at at time. More so now that the three Rangers were in the center of the literal world.

Other than being bombarded with questions about our alter egos and hearing about it in every piece of media known? Super!

Cheer up, even if others cannot i will say it: Thank you. What you all did was the first push back against The Fallen and this can turn the tide and prevent what happened to Machine World continue here. So i will keep doing my best to help you

    And speaking of Heroes

Cassie pointed to Levi and Zack engaging in a conversation in the Garage area. This was a team effort and it was also thanks to them that they stopped the forces of evil for the moment.

Hey guys, glad to see all of you. School was a nag and do not even get me started on the teachers. You would think some would go past the chit chat stage after you get your Post Graduate degree. How are you all doing?

    Kellz

The folders hit her desk with a thump that almost made her jump, but she kept her cool. She looked up only to find her supervisor standing there with an unreadable expression. “What’s this Terrence?”

    “Your new cases.”

“New cases? My case load is already hitting max capacity.”

“Yeah, well so is mine and Jeff’s, Theresa’s and everyone else working. We just have to bite our tongues and do our best Kellz.” With that he walked away and Kellz with a bit of irritation began flipping through the flies. Too many people were being affected by the drama happening in the streets and the State for whatever reason believed that it was the job of the social workers to fix it. She grabbed her files, and checked the time before heading out. She was definitely going to be late, but the family she was going to see would need all the time to prepare for the news she had to deliver.

    *****

Kellz sat in her car trying to catch her breath. In all her years as a social worker, it was never easy to tell a family that the government was separating them (whether it was for a few days, or a lifetime). It all seemed to remind her of her childhood, but that was the reason she entered social work in the first place, to prevent such a tragedy. Yet, some things just couldn’t be helped, not matter how much you tried.

She started her car, and was shocked to find that it was having trouble turning over. ‘That’s weird,’ she said to herself. She tried again, and then on the third try, the engine shot to life. ‘I’m going to stop by this shop I saw on the way in. I think it was Last Chance or something like that.”

    Levi Day-

Footfall sounded behind her and she turned as his voice broke into her train of thoughts. She bumped her fist against his and wrinkled her nose at the wording calm before the storm. She shook her head but laughed lightly ...another day at last chance auto.

"We haven't really had a chance to digest everything that's happened the last couple of days. How ya holding up?"

"That's a load question. For the most part I'm okay. Our first battle just seemed like it was to easy and I fear like they are testing us. I..." She stopped momentarily and looked up at the ceiling, trying to piece her thoughts together.

"All of us, lost a lot because of them and i worry that we might not be enough to withstand a second onslaught. Well that's the worry wart part of my brain. Another part of believes that as long as we believe in our selves and each other...there is nothing that we can't accomplish. When we were fighting in morph...i kept having flashes of memories about my parents and angry because so many suffered, lost people they love. i don't know what will become of me if i lose any more people i care about. I'm sorry, Zack, i didn't mean to unload on you like this. how are you holding up?"

Levi asked as her stance shifted. Rodrigo's voice boomed into the shop and levi jumped slightly and chuckled at herself. "We;ll...school was good for me at least. Sorry to hear the teachers are still gossiping like it's 1999. I'm good, just a bit worried but it's normal?" She half answered half asked, tilting her head.

    Zack King

Zack stood quiet listening to Levi. He wasn't sure but it felt like this was the first time Levi had actually opened up to him about everything going on in her personal battle with the weight of the situation.

And he agreed. What if Zack lost his parents? His team? Losing his brother was a huge impact. It left Zack unsure of himself and unsure if survival was possible? If his brother of all people was slaughtered by The Fallen... what chance did they stand?

Zack sighed a bit when Levi asked how he was taking everything, before able to speak the Professor walked in.

"Hey Rodrigo, all's well. Got some vehicles that need some work. Normal work load this week... well normal for me. If you guys are able to lend a hand it'd be appreciated. Not gonna lie guys sometimes I wish we had more bodies on deck.

That sports car that... Nick McNeal guy dropped off was a doozy. But a fun little side project. Paying good money too."

Zack folded his arms giving the Yellow and Blue Rangers a worried look.

"It's been awfully quiet lately guys... not the shop... but ya know... The Fallen. Call it paranoia but... I think something's coming."

..."Call it paranoia but... I think something's coming."

The blarring tone of their Cell Shift Morpher suddenly broke the moment of tension and peace.

You just had to jinx it...

    Rodrigo Bustamante

This is not good. Last time it took The Fallen almost a year to attack the city again, not it has only been days at most and the alarms are ringing again. Rodrigo nodded to the others and turned on one of the cars that they were working on in order to make some noise to drown his call

Go ahead Cassie, we are here.

Rangers, the radars have detected another anormality heading to the city, we have a shorter amount of time than before, and that is not the only bad news. This readings differ from before, not only there are more, but also one more has shown following the smaller pods, one...bigger.

Got it, we will need to get to the Engine Ops to deploy fast. Levi, Zack, we need to tend to the customers as fast as we can and from there head to the command center. We have a window of time before the city notices so let's try to not be too alarming.

Turning to a button in the wall he paused before pressing it.

I swore i would never used "them" until a last resort, but i guess we have no choice.

After pressing it, three LMD* materialized in front of the three Rangers. They were Life Model Decoys that they tended to use as spare hands before Zack and Levi joined them and help Rodrigo and Cassie with their daily work. They were not a bad solution but at the long term you needed human emotions in order to appease the more demanding customers.

    Please tell us the directives.

Help the customers as fast as HUMANLY possible, after that escort them to their vehicles and if something were to happen, take them to the shelter area on the ground floor.

    Alright, let's do this!
Said Rodrigo giving a thumbs up to everyone to assume their positions before departing to another skirmish.
